“Having worked as a construction guy while performing at night on stages I've always had an odd interpretation of how art melds into presentation. A sort of unvarnished elegance is what I strove for when I wrote the lyrics to Favored Glee. A song that felt of, perhaps, high art, yet also owned the strife of being working class. Like any day where I applied ten square of shingles on a roof then, later that night, performed in a musical for an audience. That crossroad experience was amazing.”-John
